Where Michael Timmins' songwriting was stilted and overly self-conscious on the previous record, here his character studies are literate and finely-etched; like Robbie Robertson before him, Timmins' Canadian roots allow him to view the rural American experience with unique objectivity, and narratives like the opening "Southern Rain" and "Murder, Tonight, in the Trailer Park" are told with compassion and cinematic detail. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cowboy_Junkies

Tracklist

Southern Rain 4:50
Oregon Hill 4:53
This Street, That Man, This Life 3:14
A Horse In The Country 3:51
If You Were The Woman And I Was The Man 3:13
Murder, Tonight, In The Trailer Park 4:33
Black Eyed Man 3:14
Winter's Song 3:00
The Last Spike 4:24
Cowboy Junkies Lament 3:07
Townes' Blues 3:12
To Live Is To Fly 4:30
Lost My Driving Wheel 6:36
If You Gotta Go, Go Now 3:08
