These transformations bore fruit with the release of The Rainbow Children at the end of 2001. Billed as “controversial” in its press materials for its open spiritual message, the jazz-inspired record was Prince’s first fully independent release, issued without any major label backing.

Tracklist

Side A
Rainbow Children
Muse 2 the Pharaoh
Digital Garden

Side B
The Work Pt 1
Everywhere
The Sensual Everafter
Mellow

Side C
1+1+1 is 3
Deconstruction
Wedding Feast
She Loves Me 4 Me
Family Name

Side D
The Everlasting Now
Last December

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0067/2072/products/Skaermbillede_2020-02-22_kl._07.07.12.png?v=1582351709
