In fact, it had already been recorded by Nelson the previous year as “The Stolen Moment” on an album by the Eddie “Lockjaw” Davis big band titled "Trane Whistle". Curiously, this early version (added here as a bonus track at the end of the Stereo version) also features Eric Dolphy and Roy Haynes, as well as George Barrow, who plays tenor sax and flute instead of baritone sax.

Tracklist

     LP1 : The Stereo Version (Impulse AS-5)
A1     Stolen Moments     8:47
A2     Hoe-Down     4:44
A3     Cascades     5:31
B1     Yearnin'     6:24
B2     Butch And Butch     4:36
B3     Teenie's Blues     6:40
B4 Stolen Moments [First Version, Aka The Stolen Moment]* 7:51

Lp 2: The Mono Version ((Impulse A-5)
C1     Stolen Moments     8:47
C2     Hoe-Down     4:44
C3     Cascades     5:31
D1     Yearnin'     6:24
D2     Butch And Butch     4:36
D3     Teenie's Blues     6:40

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0067/2072/products/the-blues-and-the-abstract-truth-stereo-mono.jpg?v=1571439516
