With Aquemini, OutKast released their third studio album in 1998 and created a defining classic of Southern hip-hop. The title combines the zodiac signs of the duo – Aquarius (André 3000) and Gemini (Big Boi) – reflecting their contrasting yet complementary personalities.

Musically, the album blends hip-hop, funk, soul and jazz with live instrumentation and adventurous production. André 3000 and Big Boi explore themes of Atlanta life, relationships, society and growing up, while pushing their sound far beyond traditional rap.

Highlights include “Rosa Parks,” “Da Art of Storytellin’ (Pt. 1)” and “SpottieOttieDopaliscious.” Today, Aquemini is widely regarded as a hip-hop landmark and one of the defining albums in OutKast’s catalogue.
